Strategy Term

Resource-Based View (RBV)

A strategic management theory that posits that a firm's sustainable competitive advantage comes from its unique, valuable, rare, inimitable, and non-substitutable (VRIN) resources and capabilities. It emphasizes internal strengths over external market positioning. In the modern context, RBV helps identify how AI capabilities, proprietary data, or unique talent pools can become VRIN resources. Dynamic execution focuses on continuously developing and leveraging these resources to adapt to market intelligence and maintain an edge.
